I have a big family.
Two kids, two dogs, two cats... It's a full house here! Downtime is a hot commodity but my favourite way to spend it is relaxing at home with my family. My son, Xander, and I play Minecraft together often; while my daughter, Cecilia, loves to snuggle up on the couch.
I have synesthesia.
Music-color to be specific. This is a big reason as to why music is a big part of planning your photoshoot for me! A few songs can help me create an experience that is unique to you- it also really helps me get to know you!
I always have something on for background noise.
Wether I'm editing photos or painting, I love having the right kind of background noise. More often than not, this means music (my minutes listened for my Spotify wrapped this year was 125,827!!)
If music isn't background noise, a show is.
There is a handful of shows that I rewatch constantly. I call them my "comfort shows". They work as background noise for me the same way that music does. Some of these shows include Parks & Rec, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and Community.
Photography feels like a calling.
There wasn't many constants in my life growing up, but having a camera and taking my own pictures is one constant. I feel at home behind a camera.
Mental health is an important cause for me.
There is a history of mental illness in my family, and at nineteen I was diagnosed with depression & generalized anxiety disorder. That never felt right, though. Then, one day after months of research and thinking I was crazy for even wondering, I asked my doctor for an ADHD screening. I was diagnosed shortly before my 28th birthday. Finding out I had ADHD was one of the most (non-child related) life altering moments for me. It made so much of me and so much of the struggles I had with myself make sense. It's been almost 2 years since then, and I have never been happier with myself.
